Im gonna pack my bags and never look back...

I love that song! That was the tune I had in my head while packing the past two days. I am leaving in a few hours for back east and oh boy am I excited! I will be seeing all my loved ones that I haven't seen since Christmas, and am taking a side trip to the Big Apple. I will be taking my camera so that I will have loads to share with you when I get back. I wish you all a wonderful 12 days and will miss you while I am gone.

Later Wednesdayers, I have a plane to catch!!!!

Game Night!!!!!

Had some great friends over Saturday.  We had so much fun playing Guesstures and Apples to Apples. Our amature acting was comical to watch.  We played boys vs girls, and of course we girls blew the competition away by three whole points! Then in apples to apples Jason and Mike teamed up and stole the game. We suspect cheeting but have no evidince so we let it slide. The night was wrapped up around midnight, and I was tired the next day, but I cant wait to do this again soon.

Have a wonderful Tuesday!!!

As one chapter ends another begins...

Shelby graduated from high school this past Thursday. She will be  heading off to college in Iowa soon. As she begins this new chapter in her life, as a friend I could not be more proud of her. She has received a full ride to play golf. Now enough of the boasting.  We celebrated her accomplishment if full.  There was more Mexican food that one knew what to do with, and don't even get me started on the Margaretta machine!  Her party was a huge hit and a great time was had by all. I will hate to see her go in a few weeks because it means this chapter is over but I am so excited to see where this next one takes us.

B, with all my love, I am so proud of you!

Happy Monday!!!!

Unexpected Sanctuary.....

Grocery shopping late at night is one of those thing I find relaxing.  Browsing the empty isles while the rest of the world goes about their nightly rituals outside the sliding glass doors. I find comfort in the lonely, white, echoing walls of the store. Peace washes over me as I grab my items sliding them in my cart one by one with no one else eager for me to move out of the way so that they can grab their food. Passing by the lone stock boy as he readys the store for a new day and having the same quiet understanding that this time of night is the best time to be here. As a kid with my step mother Rachel and my brothers and sister we used to roam the empty isles of the local super market. That is where I found my sanctuary, I didn't realize that it got really busy until I started going during the day with my mother. I will go late at night just to find peace sometimes even if there is nothing I need, just the peace alone is reason enough.

Where is your Sanctuary?

Happy Monday!

RAMBLINGS

The other day a glorious rain storm came out of nowhere. The kind of rain that makes you so excited you almost pee your pants. I watched from my window at work wishing so desperately that I could be outside being drenched by it. When I left work and was on my way home, the rain stopped but it left behind a whole rainbow from start to finish. For years I have been wanting to see an entire rainbow, I had only ever seen parts either the start or the bow or the touch down, never one in all its glory. It was like a gift, a little present just for me!

Hope you catch a rainbow sometime.
Happy Thursday!!!

Five Favorite Things!!!!!!!!!

I love carousels, when I was a little girl my room was all done up in carousel motif. Cherries are another one of those childhood summer time favorites, so refreshing on a hot day(don't forget to spit out the pit.). Rainy days however are best spent curled up in bed reading a good book becoming lost in another world. When I do finally break back into reality I so enjoy going outside and watering my beautiful sunflowers. They are just so cheery and beautiful, always face up to the sun. Although they do not thrive in Fall which is my all time favorite season. The crisp air and wonderful colors is breath taking.

Take a trip down Memory lane and have a great Wednesday.

What I love about sundays...

After church on Sunday we headed over to Becky and Tims for a BBQ. It is always great food and tons of laughter at their house. The girls stay in the kitchen most of the time talking and laughing, one does not come with out the other around there. The men stay outside grilling and doing guy stuff. (not totaly sure what that intales since they normally dont show their faces until its time to eat.) By the way, can these people cook! The food is always devine.  I wish I could cook like that. It was a really good wrap up to a crazy week.

For my mother

For all that you've done for me.

I wrote her a poem back in 2004 and it still applies today.

You were always there for me,
even if i way wrong.
You were there to tie my shoes,
and kiss all my boo boos.
You were always my hero,
even when i was zero.
You'd make me laugh until I'd cry,
and let me help you bake Thanksgiving pie.
You read me stories and sang me songs.
You love me so much,
and i think you're the best.
But now it's my turn to give it back.
I love you lots,
you know that.
this is my poem,
my way of giving back.

For my best friend and loving mother happy Mothers day! this says it all right here.

Love always,
Lamb
