Take a Hike

Woke up early this morning to a blissful spring day. Perfect weather to take a hike. I packed up my car with all the essentials water, camera, best friend Kahla and headed to Camelback. On our way there we got so very lost and ended up making a 30 minute trip last an hour. Luck was on our side, by the time we started up the mountain it was covered by shadows. This made our hike quite enjoyable, I don't know if you have ever been hiking when the sun is blaring down on you but its no picnic. The workout I got was amazing, my muscles burned and my breaths were ragged but my body felt so powerful as i kept push forward. We got to the top in a hour flat and it only took us 20 minutes to get down, over all a great day. I cant wait to get out there next weekend, you can say I am now addicted. Side note while hiking Kahla and I kept talking about how much we wanted pineapple, never did make it to the store to get some on the way home. Oh well maybe next time.

Spring Forward

Spring, its the time when the flowers come out to say "hello Laurel we have missed you". I love the way the earth smells when the ground has thawed out and the flowers start to bloom giving the air the smell of sweet nector. This is also the time the spring fashion lines are released. Oh how exciting it is to see the bright colors in the new light and airy fabrics. It brings the desire to shed the once chic and heavy sweater and sassy leather boots for a new flowing floral dress and a pair of wedges that lace up your ankles and around your calfs. Oh the new shopping potential is endless! There is just something about getting to revamp your style at the beginning of the seasion that just tickles me pink. To start spring off with a bang, this morning i did this foe floral technique to my nails, now even they have style. Broadway nails just released nail dress (stick-on wraps) they are so simple to use and you can pick them up at Walgreen's for only $6.00, this is cheep compared to other brands and fairly comprable.

Here's how to!

  1. Grab yourself these fabulous little beauties from your local drug store (the instructions are also on the back).
  2. Take your nail buffer and buff out all your imperfections making sure your nails are smooth.
  3. Using nail polish remover thoroughly clean your nails from all dirt and dust left behind by the buffer.
  4. Scurry over to the sink rinsing your hands, as your rinsing lightly shape your cuticals so that they look clean and you can get your strips as far up as possible.
  5. Now its time to get started.  peal and place your strips according to the size you need molding them to your nails.
  6. Using the smoothing tool that they have provided you with, push out all the air bubbles.
  7. Taking the opposite side of the smoothing tool file off the excess strip.
  8. When all the strips have been applied brush a clear coat over them so that they last longer. (I did this before my run this morning, so that they would have ample dry time.)
  9. Now enjoy, show them off to your friends and get them in to the spring spirit with you.
