mustache anyone...

This weekend Ryan turned 12. I still cant believe it, he's getting so big. His party was a mustache theme and his lovely moma did a fabulous job with all the hand made mustache inspired decorations. For his birthday I got him a mach10 water gun, and as a special surprise I bought a pack of water guns for the rest of the kids so we could have a backyard water war(yes, I include myself with the kids when it comes to water war!). Oh boy did we have fun, minus the fact that half of the water guns were broken. Great faulty manufacturing Target, we managed to have a blast anyway. With Ryan being the only boy we all teamed up against him and his fancy water gun for a little girl power. With soaking clothes and shivering bodies we came inside and sang a timeless song of birthday wishes and watched this freshly turned 12 year old blow out his candles and make a special birthday wish.

The challenge is on

For a WHOLE week no T.V. in the Klingmeyer household. Yep you heard right, no Sons of Anarchy, no Burn Notice, and absolutely no Bones. We have cut the cords (not literally) there are so many other great things to do, rather then drain our brains on the boob tube. So tonight as I got home from work We ate a delicious dinner of fresh pasta in a creamy cheese sauce and sauteed beef seasoned with garlic and onion, as my mom calls it.  Really its mac and cheese and hamburger. Hey the lady knows how to make it sound like 4 star dining up in this joint. Over the weekend I had come up with a few things to do so that we would not feel drawn in to cheating the challenge. Luckily twas not needed tonight. Target's faulty water guns gave the perfect opportunity to get out of the house and enjoy the beautiful evening and get an errand done. Yesterday I had purchased a package of water guns to help fight off the 105 degree temperature.  3 of the 8 were broken, so last night I was sitting at the table scrubbing the permanent marker off the guns because I had written our names on them before I knew they were faulty, luckily nail polish remover did the trick. After the lovely lady grilled me about how they were broken I got my money back and turned right back around and went shopping. I was able to snag some new work shorts and a gift for Mia, a good friends daughter who is turning three today with a party this weekend. With that out of the way we browsed the aisles and ended up in the book section. (shocker) I saw another blogger's book and began to tear up because of how emotionally over loaded with joy and sorrow for her I was as I read. (Yes I am that annoying person who stretches out in an aisle to read a book that she has not purchased yet.) We round up our trip and headed to check out. We talked on the way home about how enjoyable the evening was and it was nice to do something different from our routine. I look forward to the rest of the week and the things we will do. I'll keep ya posted.

21 Jump Street

Saturday, my friend Steven picked me up for dinner and a movie at the Ipics Theater. We got there early and just decided to valet park.  Good thing we did because we got our valet validated at the restaurant we ate at. (Awesome) We got to Ipic cinema and instantly realized we were under dressed. There are ladies in dresses and heels and guys in button downs and dress shoes.  I was in a tank and jeans and Steven was in a tee with a grenade on it. We Buy our tickets for the later show and bop across to the H and M to buy some new clothes. We set a time limit of 20 min to find an outfit, so we split up. I found this elegant white dress with leather trim, and just as im headed to the dressing room Steven finds me with a crisp white shirt and a black vest. Oh yea, we were styling. We wait in the dressing room line, because for some reason at that time every person in the whole store is trying on their clothes as well. Finally we get our dressing rooms and change but then there’s a problem, I have on black undies, oh no!  I rush into the undie area and grab a pair of cream ones to take their place. After we check out we duck into the bathrooms and change into our new clothes. (Which were quite inexpensive) Now having this bag of old clothes, we head back to valet.  The guy we had was such a sweetheart he rushed our clothes to the car with out even a backward glance. Now with business taken care of we head off to dinner and to wait for our show time. We walk into the restaurant and the waitress asks "do you have a reservation"; I look at her like a deer in the headlights and say "no did we need one?" She smiles and says no we have an open table, then gives me a quick look over and says nice dress. Steven and I look at each other and smile. On the way to our table Steven looks at me and says (only loud enough for me to hear) "its all about the dress". Dinner was fabulous!  We ordered a delicious pizza and the best macaroni and cheese ever. All we could talk about was how our childhood could never be looked back on the same way when it came to mac and cheese, it was that good. As we wrapped up dinner we still had time to kill so we walked around and looked at the mini water show they had going. Finally it was time for us to get our seats. We saw 21 jump street in the most luscious seat I had ever been in. Ipic is like the Rolls-Royce of movie theaters. Im telling you it is defiantly something you need to try. Hope everyone had as good a weekend.

Happy Monday!

With the semester reaching the end, I have come up with my summer list of to dos.

Redecorate bathroom

These are just a few things I have thought of I'm sure the list will grow as the summer draws closer. Hope you all have a fabulous weekend.
