Rocking out to the 80's!!!!!

It all started with this jumper!

I have been feeling so 80's for the past few days (now I know I wasnt born in the 80's but they had a great impact on my cultural up bringing.) I have been jamming out to Billy Joel for the past few days while driving and yes ladys and gents he is rocking via cassette tape. How awesome is that? Yes they still have them and yes my car can play them. No judgement.

Oh and candy from the 80's totally rocking!
Can you say... poprocks? Ok now try it with a mouthful of these fizzy treats.

And now for some of the greatest movies of all time I absolutely Love Desperately seeking Susan, 16 candels, the breakfast club need I say more. Why dont they make movies like these any more? Really another comedy thats point is two disfunctional people getting together and then breaking up just to get back together again. I mean come on people get a new plot line.

Have a happy weekend!!

Red lipstick

Hello Wednesdayers, we are over the hump and it is down hill to the weekend.

Today's story is by David Hume.

To Madame de Boufflers

It is impossible for me, dear madam, to express the difficulty which I have to bear your absence, and the continual want which I feel of your society. I had accustomed myself, of a long time, to think of you as a friend from whom I was never to be separated during any considerable time; and I had flattered myself that we were fitted to pass our lives in intimacy and cordiality with each other.Age and a natural equality of temper were in danger of reducing my heart too great indifference about everything, it was enlivened by the charms of your conversation, and the vivacity of your character. Your mind, more agitated both by unhappy circumstances in your situation and by your natural disposition, could respose itself in the more calm sympathy which you found with me.
But behold! three months are elapsed since I left you; and it is impossible for me to assign a time when I can hope to join you. I still return to my wish, that I had never left Paris, and that I had kept out of the reach of all other duties, except that which was so sweet, and agreeable, to fulfil, the cultivating your friendship and enjoying your society. Your obliging expressions revive this regret in the strongest degree; especially where you mention the wounds which, though skinned over, still fester at the bottom.
Oh! my dear friend, how I dread that it may still be long ere you reach a state of tranquillity, in a distress which so little admits of any remedy, and which the natural elevation of your character, instead of putting you above it, makes you feel with greater sensibility. I could only wish to administer the temporary consolation, which the presence of a friend never fails to afford... I kiss your hands with all the devotion possible.

Have a great day!!!

Easter overload!!

Part one!!!!

Our church did a picnic in the park on Saturday. I took a very close family friend's daughters Kaylee and Paytion. They had a egg hunt, cookie decorating and lots of fun games for the kidos.

Mom & the girls

After the hunt we went back to the house and dyed easter eggs. I love dying eggs it reminds me of times spent with my cousins growing up and dying eggs together and laughing about how silly julie is and the goofie things she comes up with.

Payton was so funny she kept trying to dye three eggs at once.

After our fabulous egg dying the guys came over for dinner and Guesstures. I dont know if y'all are big family game nighters but our family deffinatly is. It is just such a time of bonding and love shared through the competitiveness of playing a game together.

I cant believe how big she is getting!
Only 10 and she is my hight.
And then there is my snuggle bug.

Part two!!!

Mom and i have family friends that moved out here from delaware like us, we do most holidays together. on sunday we enjoyed a delightful dinner at their home.

Mikie and I

Me and my sweet Mackenzie enjoying our desert.

Easter was celabrated with a bang this year just how it should be, to rejoyce that our saviour has concored the grave.

Good night Monday!!!!

Carrot cake cupcakes!!!!!!!!

I have been baking up a storm. With Easter quickly approaching I made carrot cake cupcakes. They were so easy to make considering I went the lazy way and used a box mix. None the less I still had fun whipping up these treats.

I am so glad its the weekend.

Nail poslis snob!

I have been a nail polish snob for a few years now, it was either OPI or nothing. I stumbled upon essie and added a new member to the club. I like polish that is long lasting and quick to dry. Both of these brands offer that. OPI better look out because Essie is giving her a run for her money. My nail polish world just expanded into a whole new color family. Am I excited? oh you bet your bottom I am. I am having turquoise fever today. How about you, have you got the fever?

Happy Tuesday!!!!

Tia Rosa's

Tia Rosa's is a fabulous Mexican restarunt. As my mother will tell you I have not always liked mexican food, actually I hated it. Over the years I have found things that I rather enjoy though, imagine that. So when I suggested Tia Rosas for lunch Friday after my mom got off work, she was both surprised and excited. If you have never been it is a must!  The atmosphere alone is reason enough to go. We pulled up and were seated immediately inside, but because it was such a beautiful day we asked to be moved to a outside table. It was gorgeous and we had so much fun laughing and talking. It was some desperately needed quality mother daughter time.

Have a fabulous Monday !!!!

PAINTING THE TOWN RED!

And every other color we can think of...

My best friend J and I dont spend one on one time together much these days. So imagine my surprise when im sitting at work and I get a text " Improv tickets $12.00 me and you." im like heck yes, lets go! We get there and are seated front row, awesome I know right. We had the best time the show was hilareous. The preformers came on and off stage right next to me. I could touch them, well actually I did touch them. To you comedians out there if you felt something brush your side as you walked up that was me. Anyway back to my story we leave the improv and decide to go to Mill Ave.

waiting for the show to start.

Look how close I was to the stage.

We get to the paid parking area and we both realize we dont have cash. We are trying to talk the guy into just letting us park since it is already 10pm, that doesnt go over too well. If only i had bigger girls I could have dazzeled him. Then J begins to look through out his car for spare change and did we hit the mother load. We began paying this guy in quarters, dimes, nickels, and pennys. We dug out a total of five bucks. Now he was wishing he would have just let us park for free, counting all that change. We head to the strip.

Along the way we pass this street preformer he was pretty good and I got this awesome picture of him. We then decided to see one of the funky movies at this theater that only plays independent films. They ended up being closed for the night. Did that stop us? No we goofed arround taking pictures in front of their doors.

Ok ok ok so I goofed off taking pictures in front of their doors, you caught me.

Urban outfitters is always open late so we headed in and began browsing. It wasnt long before we realized we were the only ones in the store, so we started a dance off, well really i just started dancing like a oaf and jw got suckerd into joining me. Partly because he couldnt let me dance like a dork alone in a store. I mean come on he's my best friend he couldnt leave me hanging.
While J was in the dressing room I half bumped half danced into this guy. He was checking out sun glasses, guess we werent alone after all. I picked out a pair told him I liked his hair and that he needed to take a picture with me. He obliged.

This wall was so cool that I just needed a pic with it.

As our evening wrapped up we headed to the candy store and oh the fun we had in there. I bought razzels (whtch i plan to blog about later) and JW bought at least five diffrent candy bars. He kept saying they were for his family, but I know they're hidden under his bed right now. That wraps up our evening and I am so happy I got to share it with you!

Happy Friday

Five Favorite Things!

Oh to be a lazy dog, doesn't he have the good life. I would love my only job to be sun bathing and having people rub my belly all day. My Benjamen Franklin is the sweetest boy i have ever known. He always has my back whether I'm right or wrong, he is always there to greet me as i come threw the front door.  He jumps up and down, so excited to see his mamma. He is my best friend and he doesnt even have to try it just comes naturally.

I  love black & white photos there just classically timeless.

Sending and receiving letters in the mail.

eddimomie a delicious health snack.

new essie nail polish all glamed up for Easter.

This weeks love letter is by Alexander Pope.

Madam,
I have so much esteem for you,and so much of the other thing, that, were I a handsome fellow, I should do you a vast deal of good: but as it is, all i am good for, is to write a civil letter, or to make a fine speech. The truth is, that considering how often and how openly I have declared love to you I, am astonished (and a little affronted) that you have not forbid my correspondence, and directly said, see my face no more! It is not enough, madam, for your reputation, that you have your hands pure from the stain of such ink as might be shed to gratify a male correspondent. Alas! While your heart consents to encourage him in this lewd liberty of writing, you are not (indeed you are not) what you would so fain have me think you- a prude! I am vain enough to consent, and so I write on-
But, in order to be as innocent as possible in this epistle, I will tell you news. You have asked me news a thousand times, at the first word you spoke to me; which some would interpret as if you expected nothing from my lips: and truly it is not a sign two lovers are together, when they can be so impertinent as to inquire what the world does. All I mean by this is, that either you or I cannot be in love with the other: I leave you to guess which of the two is that stupid and insensible creature, so blind to the other's excellence and charms.

Have a great Wednesday!

Love Letters

Writing is a lost art, men no longer write letters expressing their love for a woman. Instead they send a few letters in a text (luv u). I want to fall in love with love again. Reading Love Letters of Great Men has shown me how wonderful writing truly is. These men put a pen to paper and they poured out their hearts, in sentences like "You will not believe what a longing for you possesses me." Doesn't that sound just beautiful? Each week I will select a letter that touched me and share how wonderful it is with you. I would relish in living in a time where men still courted women, it just seems so romantic. Since this is not an option reading the love letters that were written to others will do. Today's letter is by Pliny the Younger who wrote to his wife Calpurnia.

You will not believe what a longing for you possesses me. the cheif cause of this is my love; and the we have not grown used to be apart. So it comes to pass that I lie awake a great part pf the night, thinking of you; and that by day, when the hours return at which I was wont to visit you, my feet take me, as it is so truly said, to your chamber, but not finding you there I return, sick and sad at heart, like an excluded  lover. The only time that is free from these torments is when I am being worn at the bar, and in the suits of my friends. Judge you what must be my life when I find my repose in toil, my solace in wretchedness and anxiety. Farewell.

Have a great Wednesday.

Vintage

Oh boy did I get lucky today! I have been wanting a little black bag for some time now, but none were the perfect fit. I would find a bag that was nice and would fill the need but it just wasn't fulfilling the "OMG I have to have that right now" factor. Then she found me today while I was shopping at a local thrift store. It was love at first sight, she had all the flare I was wanting in a compact 6"x8"x4" size. From the unique square shape to little gold accents and emblem, she screams fabulous.  For only $5.00 bucks she is a bargain, to say the least. I can't wait to take her out for a night on the town, or maybe just to the supper market, whichever comes first. Well there you have it folks a new fabulous vintage bag, I am such a lucky girl.
